It’s been an incredible weekend for Marvel Studios ahead of December’s release of Avengers: Doomsday. Globally, Avengers Endgame: Encore has grossed an estimated cume of $86 million in its opening weekend.
Here in the UK & Ireland, the film opened to the No. 1 spot, with audiences returning to cinemas, bringing in £4.12 million – the biggest opening ever for a re-release in the UK & Ireland, as audiences returned to experience the record-breaking blockbuster on the big screen ahead of the highly anticipated release of “Avengers: Doomsday” on December 16, with tickets on sale now. At the global box office, the re-release has accumulated $86 million; $26 million domestic and $60 million international.
“Avengers: Endgame,” which originally released in 2019 to £88.7 million at the UK & Ireland box office, continues to resonate with audiences, holding strong with a Critics Score of 94%, and an Audience Score of 96% on Rotten Tomatoes. The current global cume for Avengers: Endgame is now $2.885 billion, placing it at no. 2 on the all-time box office list.
The special Encore presentation of the record-breaking film, which is available in IMAX® and Infinity Vision – a new certification for Premium Large Format (PLF) cinemas that guarantees moviegoers an exceptional film presentation with big screens, bright images, and outstanding sound, includes an exclusive look at the highly anticipated December 16 release of Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Doomsday.” An additional sneak peek at the film will also be available to audiences who see “Avengers Endgame: Encore” on IMAX® and Infinity Vision-certified screens.
