After surfacing online in low-res at the beginning of the weekend, Marvel Studios has officially released a piece of concept art from Avengers: Doomsday showing off the film’s main cast. The artwork comes as the studio’s Director of Visual Development, Andy Park, marks his final film at Marvel.
Whilst Robert Downey Jnr.’s Doctor Doom sits central to artwork, surrounding him are each of the team’s who are set to appear in the film. To his left, the Avengers including Yelena Belova’s (Florence Pugh) New Avengers as introduced in Thunderbolts*. They’re joined by two returning original members of the Avengers: Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Chris Evans as Steve Rodgers. To Doom’s right are the Fantastic Four who are seemingly joined by members of the other Avengers team which is being championed by the “new” Captain America played by Anthony Mackie. He’s joined by Danny Ramirez as the new Falcon, Shang-Chi (Simu Liu) and both Shuri (Letitia Wright) and M’Baku (Winston Duke).
Of course all eyes will be drawn to the bottom of the frame where Doomsday’s secret weapon, the X-Men, are shown in their new costumes. Patrick Stewart’s Professor X and Ian McKellan’s Magneto are joined by Kelsey Grammar, returning as Beast, James Marsden as Cyclops, Rebecca Romjin as Mystique, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler and much to the delight of Deadpool & Wolverine fans, Channing Tatum as Gambit.
Take a closer look at the full artwork below and see if you can maybe spot one other vital MCU character lurking near Doom…
