As we suspected Thor: Ragnarok has had a great second week at the worldwide box office. The film remains the number one movie in the world overall with takings of around $650m making it the highest grossing of the Thor franchise.
Earning $56.6m at the North American box office has taken the films domestic gross to $211.6m. Internationally it made a further $75.9m for a total of $438.5m. That puts the film ahead of the international totals of Wonder Woman ($409.2m) and Logan ($390.5m).
For those of an inquisitive nature Thor: Ragnarok is now the tenth highest grossing film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But whilst the film still has some life left in it there will be strong competition from Justice League this week and also from Star Wars: The Last Jedi going in to December.

In Marvel Studios Thor: Ragnarok, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok, the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization, at the hands of an all powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. Thor: Ragnarok is directed by Taika Waititi and returns Chris Hemsworth starring as Thor and Tom Hiddleston reprising his role as Loki. They are joined by Cate Blanchett, Idris Elba, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson and Karl Urban, with Mark Ruffalo and Anthony Hopkins.
Kevin Feige is producing with Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Victoria Alonso, Thomas M. Hammel and Stan Lee serving as executive producers. The story is by Craig Kyle & Christopher Lost and Stephany Folsom, and the screenplay is by Eric Pearson.
