Overnight a new rumour has surfaced via Variety about casting for Suicide Squad 2. It appears that Will Smith will not be returning to the role of Deadshot for the James Gunn directed sequel.
According to the trade Smith will be unable to return to the DC Comics property due to scheduling issues. It is believe, at this stage, that the split is amicable and the door hopefully remains open for him to return in future if the character is not recast.
The report does say the studio had hoped he would be able to return alongside Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn for the sequel.
