Oni Press and independent animation powerhouse Glitch Productions have revealed Murder Dones: Home Special #1, a double-sized, 40-page one-shot special which is set to expand the publishers overall Murder Drones universe by adapting the stylish and shocking origin episode from Liam Vickers’ worldwide animation phenomenon.
Expanding out of the pages of the record-setting limited series, writer Wyatt Kennedy (Nights, Marvel United) will be joined by Bram Stoker Award-winning artist Soo Lee (Camilla: The Last Vampire) for a haunting and harrowing, self-contained chapter with pivotal consequences for everything we know about the world of Copper 9.
“Murder Drones Episode 5, ‘Home,’ is such an important part of the overall story,” said Oni Press Editor-in-Chief Sierra Hahn. “It’s a look behind the mask of the Disassembly Drones, who they were, and an early look at the Solver, through N’s buried memories. It’s a story about memories. The fear of losing memories and forgetting those closest to you. ‘Home’ needs to be explored as much as possible when adapting the episode to a comic book, and the best way is to give it the spotlight it deserves as its own standalone issue.”
Arriving in stores between issues #4 and #5 of the primary Murder Drones series, join series scribe Wyatt Kennedy and special guest artist Soo Lee as they bring to life the chilling visions of a time long before the fall of the surface world on Copper 9, locked away deep in the recesses of poor Serial Designation N’s seemingly innocent, childlike little brain (or CPU, or whatever drones have). Will the secrets of N’s old human family, the Elliots, give Uzi and her friends the knowledge to stop the Absolute Solver virus? Or will it unlock a monster long forgotten?
History comes to life on May 13th when Murder Drones: Home Special #1 crash lands in comic shops with covers from Soo Lee (Disney’s Maleficent),Alessio Zonno (I Heart Skullcrusher), and Jo Mi-Gyeong (Eve)!.
