Oni Press has announced that comics master Lewis LaRosa (Punisher MAX, Bloodshot Reborn) is joining the hugely anticipated debut of New York Times best-selling creator Matt Kindt’s Flux House imprint as a new cover artist for all 12 issues of Fort Psycho – the brand-new, high-intensity, compulsively page-turning maxi-series from Kindt (BRZKR, Mind MGMT) and acclaimed artist Brian Hurtt (The Sixth Gun)!
Beginning with Fort Psyho #1 (of 12) – hitting stands everywhere in August – LaRosa will join series co-creator and interior artist Brian Hurtt on ongoing shelf covers for the shrapnel-laden, nerve-tightening action epic that will soon unravel the many secrets and betrayals of a team of disgraced secret agents … and the truth about the classified island prison where they have been sent to atone for their innumerable crimes. LaRosa’s raw black-and-white artwork will additionally be made available as additional, incentive covers onward through the series’ long-planned, closely held conclusion.
Since making his professional debut at the dawn of the 21st century, American illustrator Lewis LaRosa has defined himself as one of the most singular masters of the modern comics medium—fusing dynamic reference-based realism, stylised superhero storytelling, and a master’s control of shadow and light across covers and interior art for series including Bloodshot Reborn, Divinity, Punisher MAX, Savage, Transformers, A Vicious Circle, X-O Manowar, and more. Set to officiate the release of his first career-spanning artbook – Carbon Based: The Art of Lewis LaRosa – with Oni in March, LaRosa’s contributions to Fort Psycho will represent his first consistent return to ongoing cover duties for the first time in several years and mark his first all-new project for Oni Press.
“Talk about the perfect fusion of talent and concept… WIth Fort Psycho, Matt Kindt and Brian Hurtt are working up a ticking time bomb of guns-blazing, friend-against-foe intrigue with a cast of dozens and even more casualties strewn across the first issue,” said Oni Press President & Publisher Hunter Gorinson. “Now, it’s an immense honor to welcome the colossally talented and always on-target Lewis LaRosa onto the series for first long-term cover commitment for Oni Press and Flux House – an addition that takes series formidable to outright explosive. There are many books I’m proud to publish at Oni, but this one just may be the one that makes me the most irrationally excited – and it’s no exaggeration to call it the work of Matt and Brian’s career. August can’t come quick enough!”
Ten years ago, the nation of Singapore sank into the Pacific Ocean. The underground terrorist network known as The Seven Seals took credit for the largest act of terror in human history. In the aftermath, the United Nations created a strike team of highly trained covert operatives with one mission: locate, identify, and eliminate The Seven Seals’ secretive leader. The team’s clandestine affairs were to always remain in the shadows – until their final, explosive confrontation with The Seven Seals resulted in a large-scale tragedy too bloody to cover up and too tragic to ignore. Disgraced and disavowed by the governments that trained them, the world’s most dangerous secret agents have been convicted for their crimes and sentenced to serve time side-by-side in the one place capable of holding them: their old island headquarters, Fort Cyclone – now known in the media by the derogatory nickname “Fort Psycho.” And that’s where the official story is about to go terribly, terribly wrong.
Who will live? Who will die? And where do they keep getting all that ammo? Mission: Impossible meets Lost on a tropical island paradise stocked with trained killers, secret betrayals, and the long-buried truth about the mission that brought them there when Fort Psycho #1 (of 12) comes barrelling into stories in August 2026!
