Overnight, Lucasfilm and Fuse Games has shared a closer look at what it takes to be an elite racing pilot in Star Wars: Galactic Racer. The high-stakes reinvention of racing is set to launch on PlayStation®5 (PS5™), Xbox Series X|S, and PC later in 2026.
A new gameplay trailer was shared as part of Sony’s State of Play, highlighting high speed races taking place on both new and familiar planets across the Star Wars™galaxy, a first look at some of the characters joining you on your adventure, and the return of Star Wars’ most iconic sport – podracing.

tar Wars: Galactic Racer introduces fans to the Galactic League, an unsanctioned racing league born in the lawless Outer Rim and currently dominated by the underhanded and well-connected Kestar Bool. In danger of losing his creation and with nowhere else to turn, league organizer Darius Pax calls on the dauntless pilot Shade, a lone racer with a personal grudge against the Bool family, to help take Kestar down and reclaim control over the league.
Play as Shade in an immersive campaign, choosing from a branching path of events to earn parts, tools and upgrades that will give you an edge in the championship. Try out new build strategies in different repulsorcraft – landspeeders, skim speeders, speeder bikes, and, of course, podracers – and work with mechanic Hibi to build the ultimate vehicle to suit your racing style. Race, adapt, and master new strategies as you forge alliances and takedown rivals on your path to becoming champion of the Galactic League.
Experience your own Star Wars racing adventure across a multitude of modes. Take your talents online, with up to 12 racers battling for supremacy in hard-fought races across multiple game modes where only the fastest prevail. Dive into instant action in the Arcade mode, where time trials and precision driving await those looking to secure their legacy on the leaderboards. And explore the Scenarios mode, where you’ll race under unique conditions ranging from practice runs on new tracks to hardcore races that will push your piloting skills to the limit.
