The vampire movie is long overdue for a resurgence. After the family-friendly Twilight the genre has found itself struggling for an identity. But a brand new chiller from the producer of Expendables 2 and The Mechanic looks to change all that.
Alex Pettyfer (Magic Mike, I Am Number Four) goes up against Memento and L.A. Confidential star Guy Pearce in Sunrise, a stunning piece of horror that delivers both fresh and familiar bloody legends of vampirism’ (Warped Perspective).
When a former cop named Fallon returns to the scene of a horrific crime, the residents of a rural town discover that he is really a vampire who feeds on blood and fear. Befriended by a kind immigrant family, the instinctive killer soon faces a choice of revenge or redemption.

A cross between True Detective and Angel Heart, Sunrise is a slow-burning and thoughtful horror film that encompasses themes of religion, racism and revenge. Like the recent UK horror hit Bull, in this film nothing is quite what it seems.
Directed by Andrew Baird (One Way), and written by Ronan Blaney (Oscar-nominated for Boogaloo and Graham), Sunrise also stars Crystal Yu (Doctor Who), Olwen Fouéré (The Watchers, Tarot) John Connors (Love/Hate). Featuring a marvellously malevolent performance from Pearce, and with Pettyfer on top form, ‘reminiscent of Christopher Lambert in Highlander’ (Film Threat).
Sunrise is available now on digital platforms including Google, Apple TV, Sky and Amazon.
