Gunslinger Spawn #23 is published by Image Comics, written by Todd McFarlane and illustrated by Brett Booth.

Issue #23 is available 9th August 2023 either directly from Image Comics online or from your local comic book store, digital copies will be available to download from the usual content providers.

    Synopsis

Now that Dakota’s true identity hasbeen revealed, the Gunslinger needs tomake a tough decision. Can he trust her,or does he put a bullet in her head?

    Review

In this issue events begin to take a dark turn with Clown’s original plan of sending his daughter to do his dirty work and kill Gunslinger going quite dramatically wrong sending his minions into a blood thirsty frenzy.

Gunslinger faces would could possibly be his toughest challenge as he comes up against not only Clown’s minions he has to face Violator in a battle that looks to be too much for Gunslinger as the evil tag team quickly get the upper hand, but does Gunslinger have a plan? Is there anyone out there that can or will help the Hellspawn? Whatever happens you just know that he won’t go down without one hell of a fight.

The Spawn Universe has expanded to a multiverse of different stories that are individually growing in strength, as a combined unit the multiverse is becoming one of the biggest and best brands in comics and that is down to the creative artists involved overseen by the godfather himself Todd McFarlane. The writing of Gunslinger is firmly in the grips of Todd himself and you can feel from the writing that this is still a true love for him as the story runs deep with passion and emotion with a gripping theme throughout. The in going battle between Gunslinger and Clown is one that I have enjoyed following and I and excited to see where the story will go next.

Brett Booth is up there as one of the most talented artists in comics at the moment and the artwork in this book just proves this. Each panel bursts off the page with a furious sense of rage as the fierce battle between Gunslinger and Clown heats up, each blow is captured perfectly with the visuals keeping your eyes mesmerised to the page.

    Verdict

Starting to be a little predictable now but I just can’t help giving Gunslinger full 5⭐ every issue drags me deeper into this dramatic world and to be fair I never want to leave. This creative team have done it again produced a comic that will blow your mind, definitely recommended from me.
