Director Todd Phillips has confirmed that cameras have begun rolling on the sequel to 2019’s Joker. The director took to social media earlier tonight to share a new image of Joaquin Phoenix on the set of the film
Phoenix is seen as Arthur Fleck, still locked up in Arkham following his capture at the end of the previous film. It’s understood that 2024’s Folie à Deux will following the inmate as he meets another legendary DC character, Harley Quinn. Here Quinn will be played by none other than Lady Gaga.

Joining Phoenix and Lady Gaga in Folie à Deux are Catherine Keener, Brendan Gleeson, Jacob Lofland, and Harry Lawtey. Zazie Beetz will also reprise her role as Sophie from the first film.
Joker: Folie à Deux is currently slated for an October 4, 2024 release date in cinemas.
