In this issue we take a step back as we find out the origins of The Corinthian and how he turned out to be the way he is. Decending on a party we find the horrific beings of Mr Agony and Mr Ecstasy as they begin to clean sweep the bodies.
Daniel “Lord of Dreaming” needs to intervene and control Corinthian almost like a puppetmaster and get him back to task, he will do this by forming an unlikely partnership but will Corinthian go along with the new rules, if he wants to reach his eventual goal then he will definitely need to.
This story is terrifyingly dark but also gripping book, James Tynion IV thrives as he writes a tale that will grip your very soul and leave you breathless at the end.
The illustrations from Aaron Campbell are simple but effective as the straightforward art style captures the nightmare tale perfectly. Each story panel is the stuff of nightmares and expertly shows The Sandman Universe at it’s best.
Verdict
Terrifyingly dark tale that will grip you until the end, James Tynion IV is at his very best heading a creative masterpiece that will blow you away.
