Review
In this issue we see the continuation of the Rogue Sun arc which sees Dylan, the reluctant hero get more acquainted with the Rogue Sun mantle. With the youngster Dylan already struggling with “normal” life the added pressure of being a superhero seems to be taking it’s toll. The story takes a dark turn as one of the original foes of Rogue Sun returns in the form of Demonika, the eater of souls and she’s hungry and most definitely out for revenge, Dylan must listen to his father and unlock his power before it’s too late, this arc outlines an epic battle with one man’s inner struggles and past skeletons.
Ryan Parrott once again writes an intense book that outlines a person’s inner struggles mixing with the struggles of a superhero, the story is full of action but also has a deep routed emotional theme that runs throughout as Ryan builds a new super character with the potential to grow and grow.
The epic size of the book needs illustrations that runs with that theme and Abel hits the mark with his unique style that adds more depth to the written story that combines to create an intense reading experience.
Verdict
The Rogue Sun arc is growing with a fast pace with each book that passes you just feel that it’s leading onto something epic and being a fan of Ryan Parrott’s previous work you just know that it will definitely be explosive.
