With only 6 weeks to go until the release of Sonic The Hedgehog 2, the promotional gears are beginning to kick in to action. Last night Paramount Pictures dropped a brand new poster for the film which is currently set to hit cinemas on April 1, 2022.
An updated synopsis for the film reads:
The world’s favourite blue hedgehog is back for a next-level adventure in SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 2. After settling in Green Hills, Sonic is eager to prove he has what it takes to be a true hero. His test comes when Dr. Robotnik returns, this time with a new partner, Knuckles, in search for an emerald that has the power to destroy civilizations. Sonic teams up with his own sidekick, Tails, and together they embark on a globe-trotting journey to find the emerald before it falls into the wrong hands.
The latest poster brings together the film’s core cast including new looks at Tails (Colleen O’Shaughnessy) and Knuckles (Idris Elba). If you look closely you’ll also see some hints towards the film’s central emerald MacGuffin.
The cast of Sonic will also be on hand to discuss the film at this weekend’s IGN Fan Fest. You can watch the panel on Saturday, February 19.
Once again directed by Jeff Fowler, Sonic 2 reunites Jim Carrey, James Marsden, Tika Sumpter and Ben Schwartz. The sequel is due in cinemas on April 1, 2022.
