DC Comics has confirmed that two of last year’s hottest new releases, The Last God and Far Sector, will both get fresh printings for their first issues.

The Phillip Kennedy Johnson and N.K. Jemisin penned series’ will both releases new printings on 29 January. All the details you need to know are in the press releases below!

Two of DC’s Hottest 2019 Titles Start the New Year with Second Printings!

Far Sector #1, The Last God #1, Headed Back to Print

For fans of swords, sorcery and fantasy horror or far flung sci-fi adventure, 2020 is an even happier new year with news from DC that the debut issues of The Last God and Far Sector are headed back to press for their second printings!

Written by Philip Kennedy Johnson with art by Ricardo Federici, The Last God tells the story of two fellowships of heroes as they take on the same apocalyptic threat, but decades apart. With the realm of Cain Anuun and the very world falling apart around them, a new group of unlikely warriors must band together to accomplish an impossible task:

Kill the Last God, once and for all.

In their review of issue #1, Comicbook.com wrote: “…a strong first chapter with gorgeous art that feels very different from other fantasy comics out there. If you’re a fan of sword and sorcery fantasy, pick up The Last God today.”

The second printing of The Last God  #1 will feature a recolored version of the original cover by Kai Carpenter and arrive at retailers on January 29.

Far Sector #1, the sold-out debut issue by writer N.K. Jemisin and artist Jamal Campbell featuring the first appearance of rookie Green Lantern Sojourner “Jo” Mullein, is also headed back to press for a new, second printing!

Far Sector #1 will feature a recolored version of the original cover by Campbell, with an on-sale date of January 29.

Newsarama has high praise for the series debut, stating in its review “Far Sector #1 is just a flat-out great comic. Jemisin, Campbell and Bennett deliver a Green Lantern story that any reader can dive into, regardless of how familiar you are with the far reaching lore of the Corps.”

The latest title from DC’s Young Animal imprint curated by Gerard Way, Far Sector #1 stars former NY police officer and newly chosen Green Lantern Sojourner “Jo” Mullein, assigned to the other side of the universe, protecting a massive metropolis called the City Enduring. After enjoying centuries of unprecedented peace, the city suffers its first murder in 500 years—sparking a mind-bending sci-fi mystery.

“Far Sector #1 puts a fresh and original spin on a familiar franchise, one that only borrows as much as it needs from more traditional Lantern epics,” writes IGN. “It paints a compelling picture of its heroine and her strange city while maintaining a brisk and focused pace.”
