With cameras about to roll on the pilot of The CW’s Batwoman there’s one question which fans are asking: will Batman ever appear on the show?
When Ruby Rose debuted in the Elseworlds crossover event Bruce Wayne and Batman were name dropped on a number of occasions. But now a new report from The Wrap casts doubt on Batman ever actually appearing in the show.
The report, entitled “How ‘Batwoman’ Will Let The CW Live in Batman’s World – Without Bruce Wayne” discusses how the character remains off-limits to The CW. It seems that Batwoman is “coming as close as it possibly can to The Caped Crusader”.
“Batman is missing. What does that do when your heroes are gone and who steps into that void?” said exec producer Sarah Schechter. “What’s great about the restriction of just focusing on Batwoman is that we have to build a world for our character. It’s a character that people don’t really know.”
