This year The Dark Knight is turning 80 years old. With DC Comics celebrating the 80th anniversary of Batman and the 1000th issue of Detective Comics we thought we would join in the fun.
For the next few weeks we’ll be releasing special, Batman-themed, episodes of the GYCO podcast.
In this first episodes our hosts Martin and Neil talk about the golden age of Batman on film. Starting with Tim Burton’s 1989 classic Batman all the way through to 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises.

Alongside the release of the landmark 100th issue of Detective Comics DC will also release Detective Comics: 80 Years Of Batman: Deluxe Edition. The publisher will also be holding celebratory Batman 80 panels at Emerald City Comic Con, C2E2 in Chicago and on Batman’s actual birthday (March 30th) there will be a panel at WonderCon.
First up is at SXSW in Austin, Texas between 15th and 17th March where Warner Bros. will be celebrating the birthday with the release of 1.5M bats over the Congress Bridge. Yes 1.5 MILLION bats.
