Prime Video has unveiled the official teaser trailer and release date for Apocalypse Z: New World, the sequel to global hit Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End. The post-apocalyptic thriller will make its world debut at the Sitges Film Festival on 10th October 2026 before launching worldwide on Prime Video on Friday 30th October 2026, across more than 240 countries and territories. The original feature ranks as one of the platform’s biggest breakout international hits, trailing only Your Fault as the most-watched international Original film on the service.

Inspired by the acclaimed literary universe of Manel Loureiro, the follow-up expands into a larger-scale ensemble survival story. Carles Torrens (Sky Rojo, Animal de compañía) returns to direct from a screenplay penned by Ángel Agudo.
The plot moves the action to the Canary Islands, which have become Europe’s last refuge following the global devastation caused by the TSJ virus. When critical shortages force a specialised mission back to the infected mainland in search of vital supplies, Roberto joins the team with questionable intentions. What begins as a calculated supply run quickly dissolves into a desperate race for survival as the squad finds itself stranded between relentless swarms of infected and fracturing loyalties.
The sequel blends returning favorites with a fresh ensemble cast. Heading up the new core group are Carlos Alcaide (El Internado: Las Cumbres), Julia Martínez (La promesa), Mónica López (Rapa), Tamara Casellas (Ama), and Santiago Vaca Narvaja (Society of the Snow).
Fans of the original will also see familiar faces reprise their roles, including Jose María Yazpik (Narcos) as key ally Pritchenko and Berta Vázquez (Vis a vis) as hospital nurse Lucía, alongside Pedrito, returning as the fan-favorite cat Lúculo. The supporting lineup adds Axel Medrano, Pedro Hernández, Javier Godino, Ujin Moreno, and Mario Mayo, with Nostromo Pictures producing under executive producers Núria Valls and Adrián Guerra.
