Surprise, DC Studios has tonight debuted a brand new trailer for James Watkins’ Clayface. The film, which stars Tom Rhys Harries as Matt Hagen, will debut in cinemas nationwide on October 23, 2026.
This new look at the film confirms plenty of new plot details about how Matt Hagen will become the iconic Batman villain. After sleeping with the girlfriend of a local mob boss, Hagen finds himself at the mercy of the boss’ goons who slice up his face. Turning to a scientist (Naomi Ackie), Hagen undergoes an experimental procedure to fix his scars and ends up gaining the powers which make him Clayface.

Directed by James Watkins and written by Hossein Amini and Mike Flanagan, Clayface stars Tom Rhys Harries as Matt Hagen. Also starring in the film are Naomi Ackie, Max Minghella, Ruby Sear and Eddie Marsan.
Producing Clayface are James Gunn and Peter Safran for DC Studios as well as The Batman filmmaker Matt Reeves and Lynn Harris. Chantal Nong is executive producer.
