Paramount Pictures is gearing up for this week’s release of Edgar Wright’s The Running Man with one final trailer. The film, adapted from the story by Stephen King, will release in UK cinemas on November 12, 2025.

In a near-future society, The Running Man is the top-rated show on television—a deadly competition where contestants, known as Runners, must survive 30 days while being hunted by professional assassins, with every move broadcast to a bloodthirsty public and each day bringing a greater cash reward. Desperate to save his sick daughter, working-class Ben Richards (Glen Powell) is convinced by the show’s charming but ruthless producer, Dan Killian (Josh Brolin), to enter the game as a last resort. But Ben’s defiance, instincts, and grit turn him into an unexpected fan favourite—and a threat to the entire system. As ratings skyrocket, so does the danger, and Ben must outwit not just the Hunters but a nation addicted to watching him fall.

We had a chance to watch the film at a screening in London last week and will be bringing you our full review tomorrow when the embargo lifts. For now, here’s what both Neil and Matt said in their social media reactions:

#RunningManMovie might just be my film of the year. @edgarwright keeps the soul of 80s sci-fi campness alive while diving deep into Stephen King’s chilling vision of entertainment-as-control. Bold, modern, and slick.

OK, so #RunningManMovie might be a contender for movie of the year. It's everything you'd want in a cinema experience: action, comedy, heart, suspense, wit and charm bursting from start to end. @edgarwright continues to be one of the most talented guys in the biz!@ParamountUK pic.twitter.com/XSN4s1XScH

Based on the novel by Stephen King, The Running Man features a screenplay by director Edgar Wright and Michael Bacall. The film stars Glen Powell, William H. Macy, Lee Pace, Emilia Jones, Michael Cera, Daniel Ezra, Jayme Lawson with Colman Domingo and Josh Brolin.
