Synopsis
The newly-revealed spectral planeswalker brings newfound ramifications for our trio, as well as knowledge of the extraplanar peril and political conflict unfolding in Ravnica.
With a powerful planeswalker with grand ambitions revealed as the puppet master behind it all, what are Chandra, Niko, and Garruk going to do about it?
Review
In this issue we see the continuation of the MTG arc which takes a surprising turn, the original Planeswalkers return, Kaya, Ral, and Vraska return to Ravinca but the greeting they receive is far from welcoming as planeswalking is now illegal and are arrested on site. They must protest their innocence but does anyone want to listen? It looks like it’s down to Chandra, Niko, and Garruk to save them now however it looks as though a stronger being has other intentions.
Once again I have enjoyed stepping into the written world of MTG, Jed Mackay has crafted a magical world that grabs the reader by the imagination and refuses to let go throughout the whole ride. The different strands of the story and other multiverse titles add more strength and depth to what is turning into a fascinating multiverse.
Ig Guara is once again at the helm of the illustrations providing a fantasy world like no other, mesmerising and awe inspiring with every page.
Verdict
A thrilling read that is gathering pace with every issue, this arc is what childhood me imagined when playing the card game and I am thrilled to be able to witness the growth of the multiverse.
