Autobots, recon. A brand new video from the set of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts has shown Optimus Prime in his G1-inspired vehicle mode. Optimus Prime appeared in 2018’s Bumblebee but only as a supporting character. He held off the Decepticons while Bumblebee fled a ruined Cybertron. After Earth was rescued (once again) Optimus Prime joined Bee and assumed a more familiar vehicle mode. This new mode shown in the video below differs slightly from the Bumblebee version so it’s safe to assume that his robot mode will remain pretty much the same. Although we can definitely expect some minor changes here and there.
The short video started making the rounds on Twitter and TikTok. It shows Optimus Prime’s semi-truck cruising down an empty street in New York. It appears as though only Optimus Prime was spotted throughout the night so it’s almost impossible to suggest what is actually happening. Regardless, it’s so great to see Optimus Prime once again. Based on his appearance in Bumblebee, it’ll be interesting to see whether he has his trailer behind him.
