Goyer (“Man of Steel,” “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” “The Dark Knight Trilogy”) through his Phantom Four banner, alongside Cameron Welsh, who serves as showrunner. Based on the DC characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, KRYPTON premieres in 2018.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix

Hans Zimmer to score ‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix’?

Back in 2016 Hans Zimmer retired from superhero movies. Following his work on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice the composer announced that he was ‘moving on’ from such films.

“I did Batman Begins with Chris [Nolan] 12 years ago, so The Dark Knight Trilogy might be three movies to you, to me it was 11 years of my life,” he said. He also indicated that BvS “was very hard for me to do, to try to find new language.”

Since that bold statement he has said it would take a great idea to bring him back to the genre. It appears he’s had that idea as a new rumour circulated the web yesterday. That rumour places Zimmer at the head of the pack to score X-Men: Dark Phoenix.

Those rumours were then seemingly confirmed in an interview between star Evan Peters and MTV. Discussing the production of the film Peters, who plays mutant Quicksilver, accidentally confirmed Zimmers involvement:

“[The set] was actually very tame. Simon directed this one, and came in very prepared, very professional. It was a different energy on set and everything got done like clockwork. It was very seamless. Everybody was a little bit more level-headed, so it was a very pleasurable, light experience. I think the film is gonna be incredible. Hans Zimmer’s scoring it—I don’t know if I was supposed to say that or not. Simon has surrounded himself with incredible people, and Simon knows this world better than anybody, so it was just cool to see him—he’s so happy and in his element in that world, and also being able to direct and guide everybody in this way. I was very happy for him and I think it’s gonna be great.”

X-Men: Dark Phoenix is being directed by Simon Kinberg. James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence and Michael Fassbender are confirmed to return to the roles of Charles Xavier, Mystique and Magneto respectively. Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Olivia Munnm Nicholas Hoult, Alexandra Shipp and Kodi Smit-McPhee will also return.

The film is due for release on November 2, 2018.

Katrina Law as Nyssa al Ghul

Katrina Law returning to ‘Arrow’

Great new for fans of Arrow and the al Ghul family. Variety has confirmed that Katrina Law will be returning to the series as Nyssa al Ghul!

The actress will return for the 16th episodes of season 6 which is titled ‘The Thanatos Guild‘. Executive Producers Marc Guggenheim and Wendy Mericle spoke with the trade about the characters return:

“In an unforgettable episode that will change Arrow forever, Katrina Law returns as the Daughter of the Demon, Nyssa al Ghul, Nyssa comes to Star City to warn of an impending danger that will threaten everything we know and love.”

Nyssa was last seen in the fifth season finale. When Lian Yu was destroyed by Prometheus her fate was left up in the air. Take this return as confirmation that Nyssa made it off the island!

After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the South China Sea. Oliver returned home to Starling City, bent on righting the wrongs of his family and fighting injustice. To do this, he created the persona of The Arrow and allied himself with former military man John Diggle, computer-science expert Felicity Smoak, lawyer-turned-vigilante Laurel Lance, billionaire inventor Ray Palmer, and his sister Thea Queen.

After years of denying himself his own life as Oliver Queen in order to be The Arrow, Oliver left Starling City with Felicity and made a home in suburbia. But their newly tranquil lives are upended when an evil new organization, H.I.V.E., takes over the newly-christened Star City. Oliver is forced to don the hood once more but can he keep his aim as The Arrow without losing the life he has fought so hard to get back?

Arrow stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak, Willa Holland as Thea Queen, Paul Blackthorne as Quentin Lance. It was recently announced that original series star Katie Cassidy will return as a series regular in season 6 as the Earth-2 Laurel Lance/Black Siren.

Arrow airs on The CW Thursdays at 9/8c. In the UK the show airs on Sky One on Thursdays at 9pm.

Captain Marvel

First look at Brie Larson as Captain Marvel in leaked photos

We’d heard on the rumour mill that Captain Marvel had quietly entered production. Now a group of set photos appear to confirm the rumours. Star Brie Larson has been snapped on set in full costume as the titular hero and it’s caused controversy amongst fans… obviously.

The hero is known for her blue and red costume but Larson is photographed in a distinctly green looking number. Check out the photos embedded in the tweet below:

https://twitter.com/ReelFada/status/956607246913490944

Could this be a prototype costume that Larson is wearing? It does look familiar to the costume worn by Doctor Walter Lawson, otherwise known as Mar-Vell. We known that Jude Law is playing Mar-Vell in the film. Could he hand over the mantle to Larson along with his costume?

Captain Marvel is due for release in 2019.
