Give all the furore around the Batman casting going on you could be forgiven for forgetting we have a new Suicide Squad movie on the way.
James Gunn has quietly been working away on his script for the sequel/reboot with small tidbits of casting news coming out in the press.
Recently Joel Kinnaman seemingly confirmed he will be returning as Rick Flagg. He is the third original cast member to confirm involvement alongside Margot Robbie and Jai Courtney. Viola Davis is also reportedly returning as Amanda Waller.
But plenty more fans are focussed on just who Idris Elba will be playing in the movie.
Initially rumours pointed to Elba taking over from Will Smith as Deadshot. But recently those rumours changed to say Elba would be playing somebody new to the franchise.
Now Forbes think they have finally cracked the code and know just who Elda will be playing.
In a report over the weekend tracking Robert Pattinson’s casting as Batman journalist Mark Hughes included a line that he has been told Elba will be portraying Bronze Tiger.
The character has had regular appearances on the small screen, being portrayed in Arrow by Michael Jai White. His inclusion could work well in a grittier, more hand-to-hand combat version of The Suicide Squad.
No confirmation from Elba, Gunn or the studio as yet.
The Suicide Squad (aka Suicide Squad 2) is aiming for an August 6, 2020 release date.
