Marvel unveils new synopsis for ETERNALS

Marvel Studios has released a huge new synopsis for Eternals which sheds some light on where the MCU will be going when Phase Four kicks off later this year. The synopsis teases an ancient war between the Eternals and the Deviants which will be spurred on by a “unexpected tragedy”.

Marvel Studios’ The Eternals features an exciting new team of Super Heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, ancient aliens who have been living on Earth in secret for thousands of years. Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, an unexpected tragedy forces them out of the shadows to reunite against mankind’s most ancient enemy, The Deviants.

The outstanding ensemble cast include Richard Madden as the all-powerful Ikaris, Gemma Chan as humankind-loving Sersi, Kumail Nanjiani as the cosmic-powered Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as the super-fast Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as the intelligent inventor Phastos, Salma Hayak as the wise and spiritual leader Ajak, Lia McHugh as the eternally young, old-coul Sprite, Don Lee as the powerful Gilgamesh, Barry Keoghan as the aloof longer Druig, and Angelina Jolie as the fierce warrior Thena. Kit Harrington was cast as Dane Whitman.

Directed by Chloe Zhao, who helmed the critically acclaimed Sundance film The Rider, and produced by Kevin Feige, The Eternals opens in U.S. theaters on November 6, 2020.

Main currently in production and will be released on November 6th 2020.

Marvel unveils THE ETERNALS costumes live on stage at D23 (video)

The D23 convention looked like it was going to be an awkward weekend or Marvel following the news that Spider-Man would be exiting the franchise. But thanks to some fresh casting announcements and a new look at The Eternals the studio has managed to put itself back on track.

Once again Angelina Jolie, Kumail Nanjiani, Salma Hayek and the rest of the cast were on hand to thrill the crowds. This time Kevin Feige chose to show off the casts costumes in some new concept art which was shown on stage (below). Whilst the looks of many characters have been updated from the comics this is sure to bring the team in to the MCU ready to reignite the franchise following recent losses.

The panel also saw the announcement that Gemma Chan (Captain Marvel) is returning to the MCU alongside Game of Thrones Kit Harrington. Chan has been confirmed to take on the role of Sersei in The Eternals, a role originally expected to go to Jolie whilst Harrington will take on the role of Black Knight.

The Eternals is set to start filming in London later this year and will be released on November 6th 2020.

Today we’re taking a look at press footage released from Disney’s D23 convention which took place over the weekend.

In this first video interview from the event Angelina Jolie (Tomb Raider, Maleficent) tells us all about joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe with her upcoming role in The Eternals.
