With the third season of The Mandalorian confirmed, soon it’ll be time to start thinking about the other various Star Wars shows heading to Disney+. Today, we’ll be looking at Ahsoka. Not much is known about the actual show, but if today’s rumor is to be believed, it could potentially illuminate when this series takes place.
A report from Kessel Run Transmissions seems to suggest that the Aladdin star Mena Massoud, who played the Street Rat, is rumored to be in the run to play the Jedi Ezra Bridger. While the Kessel Run Transmission has proved to be accurate, this is just a rumor that has made its way around.
Would Mena Massoud make a good Ezra Bridger?
If this rumor is true it could mean that we will finally discover what happened to Ezra after the events of Star Wars: Rebels. Since Admiral Thrawn was mentioned in an episode of The Mandalorian, it appears as though he somehow survived and managed to gather his bearings. His survival could be key to learning what happened to Ezra Bridger as well.
For those of you who don’t know, Thrawn and Bridger were blasted into hyperspace after being dragged away by a Purrgil- a Whale-like creature who could travel and navigate through hyperspace. That episode aired in 2018 and since then we’ve heard nothing about the quest to find Ezra and Thrawn. His mention in The Mandalorian has been the first clue we’ve had in over two years. Since The Mandalorian takes place after the events of Rebels (which concluded with the destruction of the Empire), it’s safe to assume that Thrawn is alive which means Ezra could be as well. Perhaps he is being held prisoner?
As mentioned before, take this news with a pinch of salt. It may not be true, after all. However, we’ll be sure to keep you posted once more official news becomes available. Although it might be that this rumor is neither confirmed or denied and we’ll be left suspended, waiting to see whether Ezra makes his long awaited returned.
