Black Lightning

The CW releases BLACK LIGHTNING season 2 poster

The CW has released the first poster for Black Lightning season 2.

Featuring the main cast is appears a couple of costume upgrades have happened between seasons. No surprising for guessing the series would feature an electricity pun in it’s tagline ‘High Voltage Action.’

The series returns on October 9 in North America.

Jefferson Pierce (Cress Williams) is a man wrestling with a secret. As the father of two daughters and principal of a charter high school that also serves as a safe haven for young people in a New Orleans neighbourhood overrun by gang violence, he is a hero to his community. Nine years ago, Pierce was a hero of a different sort. Gifted with the superhuman power to harness and control electricity, he used those powers to keep his hometown streets safe as the masked vigilante Black Lightning. However, after too many nights with his life on the line, and seeing the effects of the damage and loss that his alter ego was inflicting on his family, he left his Super Hero days behind and settled into being a principal and a dad. Choosing to help his city without using his superpowers, he watched his daughters Anissa (Nafessa Williams) and Jennifer (China Anne McClain) grow into strong young women, even though his marriage to their mother, Lynn (Christine Adams), suffered. Almost a decade later, Pierce’s crime-fighting days are long behind him…or so he thought. But with crime and corruption spreading like wildfire, and those he cares about in the crosshairs of the menacing local gang The One Hundred, Black Lightning returns to save not only his family, but also the soul of his community.

Brining Black Lightning to life on The CW will also be Executive Producer Greg Berlanti. ‘Black Lightning’ joins the roster of CW DC shows which includes Arrow, The Flash, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl.

Black Lightning stars Cress Williams, China Anne McClain, Nafessa Williams and Christine Adams.

Alec Baldwin

Alec Baldwin won’t be starring in JOKER after all

It was only a couple of days ago that we brought you the news that Alec Baldwin was taking on the role of Thomas Wayne in Todd Phillips Joker movie.

Now the actor has ruled himself out of the film, first via a tweet and then an interview with USA Today.

First the actor put out a slightly aggressive tweet denying that he would be starring in the DC Films movie:

Shortly after the tweet was released a new interview with USA Today elaborated that Baldwin had been forced to drop out of the movie due to “scheduling conflicts”.

“I’m no longer doing that movie, I’m sure there are 25 guys who can play that part.” he said.

Joaquin Phoenix takes the lead in Joker and will star alongside Zazie Beetz (Deadpool 2), Frances Conroy (American Horror Story), Marc Maron (Glow) and 2x Academy Award-winner Robert De Niro.

Joker will be released on October 4, 2019. For all our Joker coverage head to our archive!

New YOUNG JUSTICE: OUTSIDERS clip revealed

Young Justice: Outsiders is finally a step closer to being released. The long awaited third season of the previously cancelled series is set to drop sometime next year on the DC Universe streaming service.
