Watchmen

Jeremy Irons joins HBO’s WATCHMEN pilot

HBO is currently hard at work filming the pilot for its Watchmen adaption.

Whilst we know only fragments of what the series will entail one new detail has us intrigued. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star Jeremy Irons has joined the pilot in a lead role capacity.

Although no details have been revealed about his role on Damon Lindelof’s series, Deadline is reporting he’ll play “an aging and imperious lord of a British manor.”

Lindleof has made it clear the series will not be a straight adaption of the Watchmen comic. It will instead exist in the world of and may well feature an entirely new cast of characters.

Joining Irons in the cast are includes Don Johnson (Django Unchained), Regina King (The Leftovers), Tim Blake Nelson (The Incredible Hulk), Louis Gossett Jr., Adelaide Clemens and Andrew Howard.

Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Nickelodeon releases RISE OF THE TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES theme

Controversial designs or not Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is coming.

From the first pieces of promo art for this new incarnation of the franchise fans have been at odds. Whilst the characters share more in common with their most recent movie counterparts their theme tune does not.

Nickelodeon has released this teaser for the series opening credit sequence and it feature a very familiar tune.

Controversially it would seem that these sequence puts Raphael and not Leonardo at the head of the team. Whilst fans have argued for years as to which sits at the head of the table many mainstream audiences will accept Leo as the turtles leader. But not any more.

We don’t yet know when the series will premiere but we expect to learn more at the Turtles panel at San Diego Comic Con which will be held on Thursday, July 19, 1:45p.m. – 2:45p.m. (Room: 6A).
