Last night we brought you the technical specs for the July digital release of Batman: The Long Halloween Part 2. Part of that press release from Warner Bros. included listings for the bonus features included with the film.
As fans will know each of the DC Comics animated movies arrive with a sneak peek at the next film in the line. As the details of each release are revealed this often brings confirmation of what comes next. In this instance we now have confirmation that the next animated film will be titled Injustice.
If that title means something to you then that means you’ve probably either played the two Injustice games available on mobile and console. Or you’ve read the excellent tie-in comics written by the now legendary Tom Taylor.
The games were created by NetherRealm Studios with Injustice: Gods Among Us releasing back in 2013, and Injustice 2 in 2017. In the storyline of the games, the Joker tricked Superman into murdering Lois Lane, and their unborn child. After murdering the Joker in revenge, Superman and many Justice League members conquer much of Earth and rule with an iron fist. Batman and a number of other heroes and villains form a resistance to take on the new regime. The story also weaves in alternate versions of characters from other Earths who help fight for freedom on the Injustice Earth.
There’s no official confirmation from WB or DC as to how the film will adapt the storyline. Also no news on casting or release dates as yet but we fully expect the film to arrive later in 2021.
