Sony Pictures is quietly continuing to expand its so-called Spider-verse on film with the upcoming Venom 2 and Morbius. The studio is also actively developing a sequel to the hugely successful Into The Spider-Verse which is due in cinemas 2022.
A new rumour from The Wrap is suggesting that a new, untitled, Spider-Man spin-off is in the works with a very familiar name attached as writer. Bob Orci is reportedly on board to pen the script.
Orci famously co-wrote The Amazing Spider-Man 2 with writing partner Alex Kurtzman, that film went on to be shunned by many fans. Orci also wrote Star Trek: Into Darkness, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen as well as episodes of Fringe and Sleepy Hollow.
No word yet on which characters Orci is working with but the studio does have plenty of plans afoot with on going development around characters such as Madame Web, Silk, Black Cat and Kraven the Hunter amongst others.
