Marvel TV and ABC has released a new look at Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. featuring new director Alphonso “Mack” McKenzie (Henry Simmons). In the absence of Agent Coulson, Mack steps up to take control of the team when the show returns to screens in July. The fate of Clark Gregg’s Coulson remains up in the air following the huge ending to the shows fifth season.
Personally, I love the challenge of being the director of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” Simmons tells TVLine. “Mack has worked side-by-side with the people he now leads, that works to his advantage… He’s one of them. But, the one thing that can hinder Mack’s ability to lead is his reluctance to put the people he loves in the line of danger. As a result, this may lead to Mack’s toughest decision as director.”
Here’s your first look at Director Mack from season 6.
