During the upfront press conference to unveil their schedule for the 2015/16 TV season US network The CW took a moment to unveil the first cast photo for the upcoming spin off of ‘Arrow’ and ‘The Flash’ entitled ‘DC’s Legends of Tomorrow’.

The show has been officially announced to begin at mid-season rather than during the usual September/October kick off for new seasons.

The series stars Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer/Atom, Caity Lotz as Sara Lance/White Canary, Wentworth Miller as Leonard Snart/Captain Cold, and Dominic Purcell as Mick Rory/Heat Wave, Ciara Renee as Kendra/Hawkgirl, Victor Garber as Professor Martin Stein, Arthur Darvill as Rip Hunter.

The cast has never officially been announced but rumours have been circulating for some time that Lotz would be appearing on the show in some capacity. A sneaky photo taken from the set of this photoshoot revealed the colour of her costume and led many to believe she would be starring as the lesser known DC character of White Canary.

During the conference CW president Mark Pedowitz stated that the characters connection to the Arrow-verse would be revealed later today.

Not footage of ‘DC’s Legends of Tomorrow’ has been screened with the show not due to go in to production until August.

Here’s hoping for a sizzle reel at this years San Diego Comic Con!

Also confirmed at the press conference was the news that both ‘The Flash’ and ‘Arrow’ would continue in their current timeslots of Tuesday 8pm and Wednesday 8pm respectively.

What do you think? Do you have high hopes for  third show based in the DC TV universe?
