With the summer movie season only just around the corner it’s time for the June and July releases to start ramping up their marketing. Yesterday Universal released the second full length trailer for Tom Cruise’s next summer blockbuster ‘The Mummy’.
This new look at the film runs to almost three minutes. Whilst expanding on some of the scenes from the first trailer there’s also plenty of new footage to whet the appetite of monster movie fans. There’s also a lot more focus on Sofia Bouetlla’s Ahmanet showing how much of a formidable villain she will be.
All-in-all ‘The Mummy’ looks to be shaping up to be a great addition to this summers releases and a great start to the new Universal Monsters universe.

Thought safely entombed in a crypt deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient queen whose destiny was unjustly taken from her, is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension.
From the sweeping sands of the Middle East through hidden labyrinths under modern-day London, The Mummy brings a surprising intensity and balance of wonder and thrills in an imaginative new take that ushers in a new world of gods and monsters.
The cast of ‘The Mummy’ includes Tom Cruise, Sofia Boutella, Annabelle Wallis, Jake Johnson, Courtney B. Vance and Oscar winner Russell Crowe as the famous Dr Jekyll. The film is directed by Alex Kurtzman who also acted as producer alongside Chris Morgan and Sean Daniel. Jon Spaihts and Christopher McQuarrie wrote the screenplay.
