‘The LEGO Batman Movie’ has had a great opening weekend at the box office. With an estimated $55.6M haul the film easily topped the charts taking out ‘John Wick 2’ and ‘Fifty Shades Darker’ in the process. Despite besting its foes the film fell slightly below Warner Bros. $60M estimate.
Audiences on the opening day gave the film a strong A- Cinescore which sits well with the score of 91% on Rotten Tomatoes. All signs point to the film having some strong legs in the coming weeks. Earlier this week we gave the film a strong 7/10 in our own review after catching a preview screening.
Internationally the film has also had a strong opening weekend. Its overall box office takings currently sit at $92.6M. Keep it locked to GYCO and we’ll keep you posted on how the film performs!
Will Arnett reprises his starring role from ‘The LEGO Movie’ as the voice of LEGO Batman, aka Bruce Wayne.
