James Wan wishes ‘Aquaman’ fans a happy 2018

Aquaman

James Wan is by now deep in to the editing process on Aquaman. The film completed its initial shoot back in the Autumn of 2017 in readiness for a December release this year. Taking a moment out from hard work on the film director James Wan wished fans a happy new year with the below cryptic image from the set.

Fans immediately picked up on the hook in the background. Some believed this could be a reference to a period in Aquaman comics where the character lost a hand and replaced it with a similar weapon. When asked by a fan if this was the case Wan had a typically low key response:

Aquaman stars Jason Momoa in the title role of Arthur Curry/Aquaman. The film also stars Amber Heard as Mera; Oscar nominee Willem Dafoe as Vulko; Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry; Dolph Lundgren as Nereus; Yahya Abdul-Mateen II  as Black Manta; with Patrick Wilson as Orm/Ocean Master; and Oscar winner Nicole Kidman as Atlanna.

The film is being produced by Peter Safran, with Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder, Rob Cowan, Jon Berg and Geoff Johns serving as executive producers.

The film hits cinemas December 21, 2018.
