We’re just a little over a year away from the release of Aquaman. The next film in the DC Films Universe follows on from the disappointing performance of Justice League over the weekend. Whilst many fan and critic reviews have singled out Jason Momoa as a highlight in the team film many were concerned by the portrayal of Atlantis.
In Justice League we see that Era (Amber Heard) has to form an underwater air bubble for the two to be able to communicate. Many fans pointed out this is not a comic accurate representation of the underwater realm and wondered how this would impact the Aquaman solo film.
Fret no at director James Wan has taken to Twitter to state there will be no “air bubbles for dialogue” in his representation of Atlantis…

Jason Momoa stars in the title role, returning to the character he plays in this fall’s Justice League. The film also stars Amber Heard as Mera; Oscar nominee Willem Dafoe as Vulko; Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry; Dolph Lundgren as Nereus; Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta; with Patrick Wilson as Orm/Ocean Master; and Oscar winner Nicole Kidman as Atlanna.
The film is being produced by Peter Safran, with Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder, Rob Cowan, Jon Berg and Geoff Johns serving as executive producers.
The film hits cinemas December 21, 2018.
