Gary Oldman is lapping up award season this year. His starring turn as Churchill in The Darkest Hour has him tipped for Best Actor success at this years Oscars. With all the success comes a huge amount of buzz and press. He’s been spotted on many a red carpet but it’s his appearance at the Screen Actors Guild Awards over the weekend which has comics fans buzzing.

The veteran actor is remembered by many for his appearance as James Gordon in The Dark Knight Trilogy. But now it would seem he has another comics company in mind. Speaking with E! News the actor mentioned he’s waiting for a certain phone call…

“Well, Marvel haven’t called me, but now that you’ve mentioned it, if they’re tuning in…,”

Oldman’s wife added that the couples 9 year-old son is constantly asking his daddy to appear in the Marvel movie. Could a role be on the horizon?
