Warner Bros. has been quietly developing a new, live-action Mortal Kombat movie for some time now. With Aquaman director James Wan locked in as a producer the movie is finally moving ahead.
Now, the studio has announced that it has dated the adaptation for a March 5, 2021 release date. For those keeping score that’s the same day that Sony Pictures currently plans to release it’s Masters of the Universe movie.
Variety is reporting that pre-production on Mortal Kombat starts this month with shooting set to begin before the end of the year. The latest game in franchise, Mortal Kombat 11, hit stores just a few weeks ago.
