Jessica Chastain confirmed for ‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix’

Some time ago it was rumoured that Jessica Chastain was up for a role in X-Men: Dark Phoenix. At the time it was rumoured she was in talks for the role of Lilandra, Empress of the alien race the Shi’ar.

Fans of the comics and the 90s cartoon series will know Lilandra for her involvement with the Dark Phoenix saga and for her relationship with Charles Xavier.

Though we have no official confirmation that Chastain will take on the role of Lilandra the actress hints to her intentions for the X-Men in the Instagram post below.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix is being directed by Simon Kinberg. James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence and Michael Fassbender are confirmed to return to the roles of Charles Xavier, Mystique and Magneto respectively. Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Olivia Munnm Nicholas Hoult, Alexandra Shipp and Kodi Smit-McPhee will also return.

The film is due for release on November 2, 2018.
