Yesterday we brought you the news that Idris Elba is in talks with Warner Bros. to take over the role of Deadshot from Will Smith. Now we have an idea about just which characters will be joining him in Task Force X.
Collider has revealed four potential characters for the sequel: King Shark, Polka-Dot Man, Ratcatcher and Peacemaker.
Fans will be familiar with King Shark following his appearances on The Flash. The character is a regular member of the team in the comics.
Polka-Dot Man, aka Mister Polka-Dot, is a minor villain from the early years of Batman and Robin comics. The polka-dots in his costume were gimmicked with explosives and other such whacky gadgets. Collider reports he may be upgraded in the movie to have superpowers of his own.
Ratcatcher was a man named Otis Flannegan in the comics, but the role will reportedly be gender-switched for the film.
This new version is described as “an exterminator in Gotham City that turning to a life of crime, aided by an army of small rodents she can communicate with and control. She’s also a fan of poisonous gas.”
Finally Peacemaker, aka Chris Smith, is a pacifist diplomat so committed to peace that he’s willing to use violence to achieve it. In the comics, he suffers from mental illness brought on by childhood issues.
There are rumours that Gunn is touting his pal Dave Bautista to take on this role.
