It wasn’t just the DC Comics movies which held court of Hall H at San Diego Comic Con today. Godzilla: King of the Monsters also premiered its first trailer as part of the Warner Bros. panel.
Starring Stranger Things Millie Bobby Brown and Bates Motel‘s own Vera Farmiga the trailer has a lot to show off.
There is of course the return of the Godzilla himself, last seen in the 2014 movie featuring his name. That film setup the shared Monarch universe which continued in 2017’s Kong: Skull Island.
Hype for King of the Monsters is real given it will also be the debut of Mothra, King Ghidorah and Rodan in the franchise.
Admittedly this trailer doesn’t give much away about the films story. But with 10 months until its release there’s plenty of time to give us a clue what’s going on here.

Following the global success of “Godzilla” and “Kong: Skull Island” comes the next chapter in Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ cinematic MonsterVerse, an epic action adventure that pits Godzilla against some of the most popular monsters in pop culture history. The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.
Godzilla: King of the Monsters hits cinemas May 31, 2019.
