Dan Didio comments on future of DC COMICS Walmart exclusive titles

DC Comics Rebirth

Over the weekend there were plenty of rumours regarding the future of DC Comics. Many of those rumours pointed to the company cutting around 15% of titles in order to undertake a restructure of its business.

It was also widely reported that the companies line of Walmart exclusive titles would be coming to an end. The 100-page giants began publishing last year.

The giant issues are made up of a mix of original and reprinted content. The release of these books was design to help popularise comics to a wider audience.

Now Didio has commented on those rumours and clarified that the 100-page giants are here to stay.

“[They’re] successful and continuing,” Didio wrote in a post on Facebook. “For those fans of the DC Giants at Walmart, have to clear up some misinformation making the rounds. Just want to let you know these books are doing well, so well that we are looking to expand the number of original pages in each book and include distribution to the direct market.”

The giant issues retain for $4.99 and are currently only available in North America.
