With Henry Cavill appearing at CinemaCon to promote Mission Impossible: Fallout talk inevitably turned to Superman. Many of the gathered press asked for an update on Man of Steel 2 and Cavill’s contract with WB.
Whilst he refused to make any bold statements on either front he did drop some new information. The actor confirm he is having “talks” with people who will also have “talks” with people. Sounds very cryptic!
When asked about his contract Cavill was also coy to confirm the recent rumours that Warner Bros. has extended his contract for further movies.
Even the director of Mission Impossible Christopher McQuarrie was asked about it. Turns out Cavill and McQuarrie have discussed the possibility of making a Superman movie together! Here is what the director had to say:
“I can’t help but talk story to people, so he told me his take on Superman and I thought it was really great, and I gave him my two cents. The tweet you’re referring to is somebody asked ‘Would you do it?’ and I said ‘Hey, they know where to find me.’ Nobody’s asked, but you know…”
Could we be seeing a new director enter the frame for Man of Steel 2?
