Marvel’s Kevin Feige is out and about promoting the upcoming release of Ant-Man and The Wasp at the moment. But that doesn’t mean he’s not open to discussing any other Marvel release.
Plenty of press (and fans) have been asking about Captain Marvel. Feige has confirmed a rumour which started with the films directors that we’re around two weeks away from completion on principal photography:
“You already know as much as you need to. We’ve got Skrulls, we’ve got the Kree, it takes place in the 90s, you have Sam Jackson with two eyes and Carol Danvers, a unique telling of Carol Danvers origin story. We are about two weeks out from completion of principal photography.”
Talk inevitably turned to when we might see the first footage from the film. Feige played his response typically coy saying only that we’re “a few months out”.
Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, a U.S. Air Force pilot whose an Air Force whose DNA fuses with that of an alien, and she’s thrust into the middle of an intergalactic conflict. The cast also includes Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Jude Law as Mar-Vell, Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson, Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, Djimon Hounsou as Korath the Pursuer, Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva, and Ben Mendelsohn, Lashana Lynch, Algenis Perez Soto and McKenna Grace in as-yet-undisclosed roles.
Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck from a script they wrote with Liz Flahive, Carly Mensch, Meg LeFauve, Nicole Perlman and Geneva Robertson-Dworet, Captain Marvel arrives March 8, 2019.
