Though he’s busy finishing work on The Suicide Squad and prepping to start Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, that hasn’t stopped James Gunn weighing in on another hugely anticipated Marvel project.
By now we’re sure you’re all aware that Marvel Studios has reclaimed the rights of all Marvel properties once owned by 20th Century Fox, including the fabled X-Men franchise.
In response to writer Gail Simone’s #My5XMen hashtag, Gunn shared his own potential roster for the mutant heroes on Twitter.
“Does Doop count?” Gunn wrote. “Cuz if so it’s Doop, Fantomex, Kitty Pryde, Storm, and Wolverine. If Doop doesn’t count I’m not sure I want to play this game.”
https://twitter.com/JamesGunn/status/1292595638413099008?We have no solid news on when to expect the X-Men to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but for now it’s fun to think about which characters could appear.
In the meantime James Gunn has The Suicide Squad hitting cinemas in August 2021 before the director goes on to shoot the third Guardians film for Marvel.
