Variety is reporting that Sexy Beast star and legendary actor Ray Winstone has joined the cast of Marvel Studios Black Widow.
Though his role is currently undisclosed we understand that Winstone may be playing a government agent. It was recently revealed in character breakdowns that the movie was casting a role that could serve as a mentor of sorts to Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha.
Marvel Studios head, Kevin Feige, has finally acknowledged the movies existence in a recent interview.
“There’s a method to the madness,” Feige explained when asked about the currently shooting project by io9, hinting that the movie may connect to the wider MCU. “There’s always a method and doing things in an unexpected way is something we find fun. There are ways to do prequels that are less informative or answer questions you didn’t necessarily have, and then there are ways to do prequels where you learn all sorts of things you never knew before.”
Black Widow will see the return of Scarlett Johansson in her first solo outing. The film currently doesn’t have a release date but is expected to occupy the May 1, 2020 release date being held by Marvel Studios.
