Back in 2017 Legion showrunner Noah Hawley announced at San Diego Comic Con that he was developing a movie based on Doctor Doom. That movie was under development at 20th Century Fox prior to its impending merger with Disney.
Many had expected the merger would put an end to any development on the movie but now it seems that may not be the case after all.
In a recent interview with THR at the SXSW festival Hawley touched on the project, confirming that it had yet-to-be greenlit by the studio. He also unexpectedly revealed that he recently had a meeting with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, where the script was discussed, “are you still working on it?” Hawley replied, “should I still be working on it?,” and that is all we know.
Whilst the project may still never enter production this is a sign that Marvel is beginning to explore options for its new acquired characters.
