Some excellent breaking news for fans of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. ABC has announced that the show has been renewed for a seventh season.
Deadline is reporting the extra early renewal is tied to the cast contract options coming up for renewal. It is understood the seventh season will mirror that of the upcoming season six and run for thirteen episodes.
The trade notes that filming two short seasons back-to-back will reduce the shows running costs and allow the show a longer life span on a lower budget.
Season six of the long-running show is set to premiere in the summer of 2019. Whilst fans spend the hiatus pondering the return of seemingly dead Agent Coulson it’s worth noting Clark Gregg’s name is missing from the renewal press release…
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is set to return in summer 2019 on ABC in North America. Ming-Na Wen, Chloe Bennet, Henry Simmons, Ian De Caestecker, Natalia Cordova-Buckley, Elizabeth Henstridge, Nick Blood, Jeff Ward, Eve Harlow, Pruitt Taylor Vince and Coy Stewart star.
