Today is the launch day for DC Universe. The streaming service has moved from beta to live stage with the app available for iOS devices across North America. Unfortunately it isn’t here in the UK yet but we patiently await news of when we will be able to see the original content coming from the service.
A new rumour today from Fandom Wire has another member of the Bat-family head to the streaming service. The site reports that plans for a live-action Batgirl movie have been shelved in place of a direct-to-streaming series.
Rumours point to a 13-episode live-action series starring the hero being ordered with Jessica Jones showrunner Melissa Rosenberg. Rosenberg has been announced to depart Marvel Netflix to work for Warner Bros. and could be a strong contender.
It is said that shooting will begin next February for a planned 2020 release date.
