Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner has been talking all things Power Rangers. Following the companies $522m purchase of Saban, plans are very much in the works to push the brand back in to the public consciousness.
Perhaps the most exciting news for fans: Goldner has stated that this DOES include plans for more movies.
“As I mentioned, we’ve now announced the acquisition of Power Rangers. This is really a great statement about where we believe we are in developing our brand blueprint,” Goldner said. “The fact that we can acquire Power Rangers brand and plug and play that right into our strategy where we activate it in entertainment, motion pictures in the future and then of course across toys and games and consumer products and do so globally.”
Given that Hasbro has a production deal with Paramount Pictures sadly we are unlikely to see a sequel to 2017’s Power Rangers (reviewed here).
