A few new DC Films developments have hit the headlines today.
Firstly the rumoured Birds of Prey film appears to have hit the fast track. Warner Bros. is said to have offered a deal to up-and-coming director Cathy Yan to helm the picture. Deadline reports that Yan was offered the film after that the studio has made it a priority over of Margot Robbie vehicles.
Over the past few months we’ve heard that development has continued on several projects starring Robbie. These include Suicide Squad 2 (more on that below), Harley & Joker as well as Birds of Prey.
Should she sign on the dotted line Yan will be directing a script by Christina Hodson. That script is said to have blown studio execs away. It’s also worth noting that Hodson is currently working on a draft of the script for Batgirl.
Subsequent to the news of Cathy Yan’s potential involvement journalist Justin Kroll has taken to Twitter to clarify some of the rumours he has been hearing.
BREAKING: Cathy Yan tapped to direct BIRDS OF PREY, the next Harley Quinn pic which will shoot at the end of the year. WB pic this as the next pic after Christina Hodson blew execs away with her script

In a second tweet Kroll goes on to say that Suicide Squad 2, strongly rumoured to start shooting later this year, has now been delayed. It’s also interesting to note that studios plans for the Batgirl character.
As for SUICIDE SQUAD 2, clearly moving out of 2018 shoot. The move to go with BOP not only had a lot to do with Hodson's script but also the idea of doing with BATGIRL what Marvel did with Black Panther in CIVIL WAR by introducing them into universe before giving them own film
